MacTips needs $1560; so far we have: $1463
To all the magic1 supporters of MacTips: thank you. It’s good to be able to focus on writing MacTips, rather than worrying about how to pay for it.

What MacTips needs
- $480: Virtual Private Server for 12 months.
- $600: VaultPress backup and anti-malware protection for 12 months.
- $60: 12 months of Akismet anti-spam protection.
- $300: graphics work
- $120: Miscellaneous costs, such as renewing the domain name
Miraz’s contribution
I spend around 5 or 6 hours per week creating MacTips and looking after the website. That’s around 300 hours per year — an investment of about $30,000.
I also pay for all my own hardware, software and learning.
If each of the MacTips subscribers (about 3,300 as at April 2012) each contributed $1 that would more than cover the funding needs for a year.
