New(ish) Mac links for Kiwis

by Miraz on June 10, 2008

Mark Webster, former editor of NZ Macguide magazine and now a freelance Mac trainer in Auckland writes a column for the NZ Herald: Mac Planet. There’s only one article there right now, but keep watching for more Mac news.

As a long-time Mac user (since 1989) and editor of New Zealand’s only dedicated Mac magazine (Macguide) for over five years, Mark Webster is a skilled provider of ground-up, introductory Apple knowledge right up to introducing the top, professional applications for Macintosh.

Mark also has a blog, where he provides frequent news updates of interest to NZ Mac users.

And if you’re in Auckland, you may like to pop along to one of his training courses.

In honour of #2

Last night I saw an episode of the Simpsons where Lisa has to deal with a new girl in class who’s smarter than she is. At one point she tries to persuade herself there’s nothing wrong with being second.

Cue the latest Get a Mac ad, Pep Rally. :-)

Leopard Tips book

by Miraz on April 12, 2008

OK, I haven’t read this, but it’s probably pretty good — Rob Griffiths, editor of the MacOSXHints.com Web site has created the 70 page Macworld Mac OS X Hints Superguide, Leopard Edition:

Discover over 200 tips for Mac OS X, Mail, Safari, and more, including Terminal basics and beyond!

It’s available as a printed book or a PDF: Ebook: US$12.95, Print: US$19.95, with a free sample available for download.

I’ve picked up a lot of great tips from MacOSXHints.com. It may be worth your while to take a look at this book.

If you do buy it, please use the Comments below to let us know what you think.
