Tips are targeted at beginning and intermediate users of Apple products such as Mac desktops and laptops, iPhones, iPads and iPods, iTunes, iPhoto and other software that runs on OS X or iOS.
MacTips also publishes reviews of relevant products.
YouTube videos
Many Tips are accompanied by YouTube videos — the first was added in June 2009. There are now more than 60 videos in the Practical MacTips YouTube channel. Many include Google AdSense ads.

MacTips has experienced astounding growth in the last 3 years. In July 2008 there were approximately 8,000 views per month. In July 2011, 3 years later, there are 10 times as many — 80,000. The trend is still upwards.

In 2003 Miraz Jordan, author and publisher of MacTips was selected as an Exceptional Adult Educator of the Year as part of a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) initiative.
That initiative was Adult Learner’s Week, designed to celebrate the efforts, achievements and contributions of adult learners, educators and providers, and to promote the importance of adult learning to the wider community.
