It was back in May 2001 that I wrote the first weekly Mac Tip: Close Them Now Mac Tip #01/02-May-2001, although it was preceded by about 80 Tips for using Eudora on the Mac.
This week I publish Mac Tip #250, and it’s time to celebrate!
Please vote in the poll
The Tips are supported by my business FirstBite. I don’t charge anything for them, nor do I intend to, but each Tip costs me at least an hour, sometimes two or three, to create. You do not have to pay for the Tips, but I do ask you to consider making a donation to the charity of your choice, if you have found the Tips useful.
You don’t have to tell me you’ve done this, but it would cheer me up enormously to know about it so I’ve added a totally anonymous Poll on the sidebar of this online Tips archive. Whether you’ve made a donation or not, please visit the web page and vote in the poll. No information is recorded about you, and I don’t ask about the amount. I’d just like to think that some of the 200 or more regular readers have in fact made a donation of some kind.
Please spread the word
As I work towards 300 Tips I’d love to increase the number of readers. Please bookmark the Tips Archive at Del.icio.us, Digg it, mention it in your blog or newsletter, tell a friend, mention it on mailing lists where it might be relevant. Please don’t spam anyone by sending bulk emails or publicising it in places where it doesn’t belong.
Please contribute comments
There are one or two readers who are kind enough to leave comments on some of the Tips [Hi Norbert!]. Your comments help promote useful discussion and often let me see where I can provide better Tips. If you have a story about how a Tip has helped you, or how it didn’t work, or how it could be better, then please fill in the comment form below the Tip on the web page.
Otherwise, just sit back, grab some of your favourite beverage, and take a moment to ponder on how lucky we are to have Macs, in this world where so many people have so little.
Thanks for reading. Remember to tell your friends about MacTips. Subscribe for regular Tips.

Hi Miraz,
Just a note to say that I continue to enjoy your tips. Many thanks. They still get passed on.
