Please be aware, that the above may not work if you use Stickies as a widget.

If you do, then to create a new note you need to click on the Stickies icon again (on the widgets ribbon).

To delete a note - click on Stickies icon on the widget ribbon it will create a new note ans an (X) sign will appear in the top left corner of every note. Id you click on that (X) sign on any note, it will disappear.

WARNING: unlike sticky note opened in normal mode (not as a widget), the note will NOT ask you to SAVE it. It looks like it will disappear forever without even asking for a confirmation. Even if they do not disappear forever a new user may never find it again.

Enjoy your Stickies.

It must for some reason be trying to open the Stickies from OS 9. I no longer have access to Classic so can't work through this. Try finding the OS 9 version of Stickies and trash it (or rename it or stuff it) and try again. You may need to log out and in again or even restart.

You could also go to your User Library and Get Info on the StickiesDatabase. Set it to Open with the OS X version of Stickies.

I tried to do the thing you taught re: Stickies. I highlighted a piece of your text, went to Services, which I found under Safari, then to "make new sticky note," and then the computer told me it was opening Classic. I stopped Classic from opening, and then I got the spinning pizza for several minutes. Why would Classic have to open to make a Sticky? I am using an eMac, OS 10.2.8, with Safari 1.0.3 as my browser.
