Moody Queuing
Eudora Tip #226/02-June-2004
Back in Tip #107/14-Nov-2001 Mood Watch! I briefly described the “new” MoodWatch feature. One aspect of this recently caught out a client who wrote an email to a family member and included an “offensive” term. His email message wasn’t being sent. Eudora was helpfully delaying the message as it had been deemed offensive.
I tried sending myself an offensive message to test out this Tip. First I checked my mood Watch settings (enabled, Warn when queueing / sending, Delay when queueing / sending).
Then I strained my vocabulary and conjured up a very offensive message. Eudora warned my that my message “may cause offense” and allowed me to “Send Anyway”.
My normal setting is to Queue messages rather than send immediately so I didn’t expect my message to go straight away. When I checked my Out Box I found it was displaying the “Timed Message” icon as you can see at left of the screenshot.
I selected the message and chose Change Queueing from the Message menu. This showed me that the message was set to be sent at a particular time, namely my next scheduled send time.
If you feel that you’re capable of deciding whether or not to send your own messages then you can set Eudora so she doesn’t interfere in this process. You could uncheck the Enable Mood Watch setting. If you’d like to keep Mood Watch enabled then you can tell her to Never Delay when queueing / sending.
It’s over to you.
