Attributions

What happens when you choose to Reply to a message? Do you just see the original text quoted or does it start with an “attribution”:

“At 17:17 +1300 03/11/2003, Miraz Jordan wrote:”

You’ll find these X-Settings helpful:

  • <x-eudora-setting:7818> Reply to sender attribution
  • <x-eudora-setting:8205> Reply to all attribution
  • <x-eudora-setting:7320> Paste as quote attribution

They can be a bit mystifying though until you know that:

  • ^0 is the sender’s name
  • ^1 is the date
  • ^2 is the subject
  • ^3 is the time

So, double click one of the X-Settings in a Eudora message and use the codes to set how the attribution should work.

For example:

At ^3 on ^1, ^0 wrote with subject “^2″:

will get me this when I reply to Aunty Flo about the party:

“At 15:31 +1300 on 21/10/2003, Aunty Flo wrote with subject “Party”: “
