More on Message Previews

Last Tip I introduced Message Previews and pointed out you can turn them on or off with the disclosure triangle at bottom left of a mailbox window.

To more permanently turn them off (or on) go to the Special menu and choose Settings.

Scroll on down to Mailbox Display and notice the entire section devoted to Message Previews. You have a great deal of control over that preview pane in this section.

Note that by default previewing a message does not mark it as read. You need to specifically check that item in the settings.
