Eudora Tip #149/11-Sept-2002
If someone emails you a web address like this:
you can double-click on that address and visit the website. Tip #15/09-Dec-1999 and Tip #16/16-Dec-1999 have more detail on this.
This can interrupt the flow of reading an email though if the browser window now comes to the front over the top of the email message.
That often deters me from clicking a link.
The wonderful X-setting 258 though (see Tip Tip #62/15-Dec-2000 for more on X-settings) can help.
<x-eudora-setting:258>
“When checked, Eudora will make an application sent a URL via Cmd-click stay in the background.”
Double click the above setting and click the “Set Setting” button in the dialog box which appears. Now you can hold down the command key while clicking on a link in an email message and your browser goes to that page but stays behind the email message.
