Drag Messages to the Desktop
Eudora Tip #124/13-Mar-2002
Adam Engst of TidBITS alerted me to this Tip. Thanks Adam.
Maybe I’m gathering opinions on something and various people email me their comments. Now, once I’ve gathered all the comments I need to send the messages on to someone else (or perhaps several other people).
I could select all the messages and choose Forward. Then for each message I have to fill in the address it’s going to. Even by using Copy and Paste this is still time-consuming and tedious.
Here’s another way to do it: select all the messages you want to send on and then drag them all to your desktop. This creates a single text file or mailbox with copies of the messages.
Now simply make one new message to the intended recipient(s) and drag that mailbox into the Attachments area (or use Attach Document … from the Message menu).
Type any message you need and Send. Remember to advise the recipient of what you’re sending.
If the recipient uses Eudora they will receive a Eudora mailbox. When they open it up it contains all the messages and they can sort and Find and do anything else Eudora lets them do with a mailbox.
I tested sending this to Outlook Express (Mac) and received it as an ordinary message where I could read it just like any other message.
