Eudora Tip #112/19-Dec-2001

One of my clients hates “Nanny Knows Best” software which tells her how to do things and what to do and what not to do. Luckily Eudora takes a more adult approach to your email use.

She will warn you about downright stupid things you might try to do, such as opening dangerous attachments, but she also has many settings allowing you to take control over what warning you should receive in less clear-cut cases.

Maybe you have a bad habit of forgetting to enter anything in the Subject line. Maybe you don’t care! Well, that’s fine. If it does bother you though, you can go to the Special menu and call up Settings. Scroll down (on the left) and click on the Extra Warnings section.

Now notice the “problems” that Eudora can warn you about if you like.

You’ll find gems such as:

Warn me when I try to delete unread mail

Warn me when I try to delete queued mail

Warn me when I try to queue a message with no subject

Warn me when I try to send a message whose size is more than xxx K

It’s your choice!

Eudora lets you set what she should warn you about
