Eudora Tip #108/21-Nov-2001

Like most other programs on your computer Eudora lets you work by using the mouse to choose menu items or drag things around, and also by using keyboard commands.

You can easily open your InBox for example by choosing Command-1. The Command key is the Apple key and the instruction in the previous sentence means you hold down the Command key, then press and release the number 1, then release the Command key.

Other handy commands include:

Command-0 – OutBox (Note: That’s a zero not a letter O)

Command-N – New message

Command-R – Reply

Command-D – Delete a message from a mailbox

Space – Page down a message and then open the next message if you’re at the end of the one you’re reading

[Note: the Space bar is automatically set to do this, but the behaviour can be changed in the Settings]

Command- – Sends the window currently at the front to the back

Command-L – Open the Address book

Command-Z – Undo whatever you last did

There are many more key commands and many which change if you hold down a modifier key such as Option or Shift. You can always find out about the keystrokes by looking at the right hand side of any menu.
