Mailbox aliases
Eudora Tip #66/17-Jan-2001
Last week’s Tip moved a Mailbox to another place and we located it by using the Mailbox—Other menu item.
We can make life a little easier though, by using an Alias.
Quit Eudora.
Move a mailbox to another place (as per Tip 65) and then make an Alias of that mailbox. (In the Finder: select the mailbox, File menu—Make Alias).
Move the alias to the folder in your Eudora folder that holds your mailboxes (see Tip 65 for help).
When you start up Eudora again you’ll see this alias in the list of mailboxes and you can use it like any other mailbox, even including it in searches.
This could allow you to store your archived mailboxes on a zip disc, for example. If Eudora needs to access the mailbox itself, it will ask you to insert the relevant disc.
