I live in Wellington, New Zealand—a hilly place with winding roads and many houses accessible only by footpath. That means I often have to send instructions on how to reach my house.

Rather than type out the instructions each time I’ve set up a piece of stationery—a standard message I can easily call up and edit, if necessary, before I send.

Just create a message in the usual way and once you have your standard text go to the File Menu and choose Save As. In the dialog box which comes up tick the Stationery option and click the button which says Go to Stationery Folder. Give your stationery a useful name and then Save.

To use the stationery go to the Message Menu and choose New Message With …

Use stationery for any message which contains commonly used or standard items—thank you notes, information about your business, address changes, whatever …
