Eudora Tip #18/21-Jan-2000

Last week I talked about deleting messages. This is really just a process of filing them in the Trash mailbox.

Eudora comes with 3 mailboxes already set up: In, Out, Trash. The InBox is where all your messages arrive. The Out mailbox stores messages you haven’t yet sent, and perhaps copies of those you have sent (depending on your settings). The Trash mailbox holds copies of messages you no longer require.

You can also go ahead and set up as many other mailboxes as you need and store whichever messages you like in them. You can easily move messages from any mailbox to any other mailbox. If you need two copies of one message and to keep them in separate mailboxes, then you can do that too.

To create a new mailbox just go to the Mailbox menu and choose New. Give the mailbox a name, for example “Messages from Mum”. At this stage DON’T tick the box which offers to make the mailbox a folder. Click OK.

You now have a Messages from Mum mailbox and can use the Transfer menu to move messages into it.
